Long-term ecological research (LTER)
We study the factors that determine long-term adaptations and ecological responses to the environment by natural populations of vertebrates. To this end, we track individual and population-state variables throughout their time, including phenotypic and genetic measures. This helps us understand the drivers of demographic changes as well as micro-evolutionary processes. Mouse project at Silwood Park, Imperial College London (Mouse project at Silwood Park) started in 2008, and the Mouse project at Valdenzar Park in 2019.

Adaptations to extreme environments
We aim to understand the main drivers of life-history strategies, reproduction and behaviour of Antarctic penguins (Spheniscidae).

Sexual selection effects on speciation
We study the effects of reproductive behaviour and sexual selection in the evolution of new species. In particular, we focus on the evolution of specialization, both phenotypically and genetically, that occurs after new habitat colonization.
